When people say they are not creative they are practicing a form of self-amputation. Creativity is not limited to artists. Creativity is not limited to technology or products. Creativity can be applied to how an organization will deliver, to whom it will deliver, and what it will deliver. Creativity can be applied to raising the performance of an organization so that it delivers value faster, better, or cheaper. The leader’s job is to inspire creativity and see that it can be applied. Ask yourself: in what ways are you helping your organization to flex its creativity muscles?
