“It’s the discipline that matters, not the desire.” This reminder came from a very successful leader that I have the privilege to work with. His point is that wanting good things is not usually the problem. Most leaders and their teams are clear about what they want. They want the company to grow, processes to be efficient, and to be attractive to the marketplace. It’s in discipline that the difference is made.

Take a moment to look at your goals. Are you and your team taking the consistent action to get where your want? Follow through. Keep it simple. Take a week at a time. Make commitments public. Get support structures in place. It’s not glamorous, but discipline will make the difference.
