For my upcoming podcast, a CEO shared his journey to build the oldest and largest handwritten automated note company in the US. His company makes its own robots from 3D printed parts. It uses AI to automate the production and quality control of the cards. It works with large companies to integrate his offering with their CRMs (systems like Salesforce) to limit steps and increase efficiency.
His secret to being able to have all these capabilities in his company? (Actually there are two.)
- Never be afraid of getting in over your head. Meaning, just jump in and work to find the solution you need to reach your goals. (This nugget, oddly enough, came from the comedian, Conan O’Brien.)
- Find the experts who can help solve those problems. He shared that he went through several resources before he found the right engineers to make his robots and all the other systems in his company.
So, don’t be afraid to get in there and do what it takes to succeed. You and your team probably have more talents than you know. AND, be relentless about getting the right people to help you do those things that you don’t know how to do. (Focus on WHO not HOW.)
With those two strategies, who knows where you can go.
