A reason many people see little results from the gym is because they donβt spend enough time under tension. Doing 10-12 reps without it being challenging is a waste of time. Chatting with a trainer or texting while going through the motions is a waste of time.
Even at work, leaders need to have some tension to develop. Showing up is important, but then the hard work needs to be put in, and that is not a function of just going through the motions of attending meetings, doing performance reviews, or answering emails. If you are going to raise a bar, make it count.
