I continue to read through a list of books by billionaires and am now on Barefoot to Billionaire by Jon Huntsman Sr.

One early nugget in that read is: “You can buy brains, but you can’t buy loyalty.”

There’s a lot of truth in that statement.

It’s why you cannot trust mercenaries on a battlefield. Once the money is gone, that’s the end of the relationship.

Loyalty (or call it commitment if you rather) requires other currencies beyond money: caring, enthusiasm, aspirations to win, meaningful work, great culture, a role that a person can excel at, etc.

Pay the price required for true commitment. When you do, you WILL get a great team to help you achieve your vision.

Do you agree? What else would you add to the list?
